- Jubal Porterphase is a Gnomish Alchemist from the Dwarven Citadel of Karokin, far past the plains and forests near Lamplight and Tanglebrook and in the shadow of the Dragonspines. Karokin is a city of crafting guilds and traders that run from Halfling controlled Fankerham to Castle Greywald and the Duchess Malraiya. Jubal himself is a member of the Alchemist's guild.
- Has been hired to accompany a company of Dwarven mercenaries to Fankerham to investigate reports of undead attacking the logging camp on behalf of the Selentine Mercantile Guild (SMG). Jubal is the only member of the party that is an Alchemist.
- One of his specialties is brewing Alchemist's Fire or Minotaur's Fire named for its first inventors. In addition to setting targets on fire with unstable chemicals, Jubal can brew acids and poultices as medicine. His main role, in addition to first aid, is using his alchemical knowledge to deal with the Undead if possible.
