Molly's track stretched south of the River Fank, where the river Halflings and the southland farmers lived. They were looked down upon by the first families of Fankerham, the great farms north of the river, but Molly's family, the Greenacres, were the exception. Her father had settled the land south at the same time as the northern farmers had settled their lands and made his fortunes by being the first south of the river, exposed to the threat of barbarian attack. Her father was respected, her name was respected, but Molly had no use for the north, or marrying some farmer's son for the family. The only friend she needed was the mastiff she was riding as she acted as a scout further south.
Notes
- Molly Greenacre is the daughter of Harold Greenacre. She is a Halfling Ranger with a focus on protecting the road leading out of Fankerham County to the great Dwarven-Human hold at Karokin.
- Favors the Shortbow and is capable of firing the weapon from the back of a running mastiff without penalty. Threats in the south include Human barbarians, brigrandry, the occasional dire animal, and some magical creation that has escaped from Quasqueton Fortress, located within the mountainous region bordering the realm.
- Her animal companion, mount, and guardian is her trained mastiff, Chesterfield. In addition to farming and river trading, the Greenacres are famous for training Halfling mounts, mastiffs. As she gains more maneuvers, Molly prefers incorporating Chesterfield in her attacks. She also buys scrolls and wands of Magic Fang or Ironfur to help make Chesterfield's bite more potent or protect him from attacks.
